Volunteers are always appreciated and help is always required for all aspects of the Fair. The Hymers Agricultural Society (HAS) is a volunteer board, but we also use the help of volunteers in the kitchen and around kids activities, for example.

Hymers Fair can provide High School students with community service hours which are required for graduation. Volunteers are not only needed during the Fair weekend, but throughout the summer to ensure the grounds are ready for the fair.

Volunteering, what’s in it for me?
  • Make important networking contacts
  • Learn or develop skills
  • Teach your skills to others
  • Meet new people
  • Feel needed and valued
  • Make a difference
  • Show you care about the community you live in

When children volunteer, it improves the likelihood they will volunteer as an adult.
Did we mention the great Volunteer Appreciation Party and the VOLUNTEER LOUNGE – a place to sit and have a bite to eat?

  • Attend the AGM (Annual General Meeting) on the third Saturday in January
  • Attend monthly meetings on the 4th Wednesday, with an extra meeting in August
  • Actively work on some aspects of the Fair
